Mickey Rooney (born September 23, 1920; died April 6, 2014) was a legendary American actor whose career spanned more than nine decades. Rising to fame as Andy Hardy at MGM, he became one of Hollywood’s top box office stars of the late 1930s and early 1940s. Rooney earned an Honorary Academy Award, two Golden Globes, and an Emmy, and appeared in over 300 films, including National Velvet and The Black Stallion.
